As Tony Flanders of S&T said in
Sky & Telescope "The three-day-old Moon is always sublime, thick enough to see easily but thin enough to be otherworldly." Tuesday evening Apr 8 this was indeed the case as I observed and photographed the thin lunar crescent floating just above the Pleiades in the waning twilight. The view at 25X during mid to deep twilight was an outstanding visual trifecta of sky, crescent, and earthshine moon. I also observed an occultation of a mag 7.4 star at 21:45. Here's a photo that definitely does NOT do the scene justice.
