As today went from cloudy to rainy to snowy to micro-hail-ly, I thought the chances of seeing the Moon join the party of fleet-footed Mercury with the Pleiades were none too good, but the Clear Sky Chart and the cloud animation held a glimmer of hope. As evening descended, the clouds started to break up and the West-Northwest sky began to herald a nice conjunction viewing opportunity. As the sky darkened from 21:30 to 22:30, the thin 2-day old crescent Moon with beautiful Earthshine smiled down at Mercury, with the Seven Sisters visible to the naked eye around 22:00. Here's my shot, from a viewpoint above Groat Road Hill looking across the river valley.
