Crescent Moon with Friends

Location: Edmonton, AB

On Friday Apr 16, the young crescent Moon briefly visited some celestial friends, making a nice photo opportunity above the downtown skyline in Edmonton AB Canada. Here's a picture I took that evening from the banks of the North Saskatchewan River on Strathearn Drive.
Hover the pointer on the image for an annotated view. On the upper left is the Hyades open cluster, with Aldebaran being the brightest star, above the Moon are the Pleiades, below the Moon is Venus, and faintly visible just to the left of the sky cranes in the lower right, is Mercury, rapidly disappearing from the evening skies this spring.
